About Villa Papiano Societá Agricola

Set in the hills of Modigliana, in the Romagna subregion of Emilia-Romagna, Villa Papiano’s vineyards are some of the highest in the area, with altitudes reaching up to 500 meters. The soils here are rich in sandstone and marl, which contribute to the distinctive minerality in their wines.

Sangiovese is the star grape, producing wines with deep fruit, lively acidity, and an earthy, mineral backbone. Villa Papiano’s unique microclimate, influenced by the nearby Apennines, allows for slow and even ripening, resulting in wines of great depth and complexity.

Their use of organic farming practices and low-intervention winemaking ensures that the true character of the terroir is reflected in each bottle. The estate is also part of the Slow Wine movement, emphasizing sustainability and authenticity.
