Located on the volcanic island of Lipari, Tenuta di Castellaro crafts wines that are deeply influenced by the unique terroir of the Aeolian archipelago. The vineyards are planted on volcanic soils rich in minerals, which impart a distinct salinity and complexity to the wines.
The warm, breezy climate of the island, along with cooling sea winds, allows for slow ripening and preserves acidity in the grapes. The estate produces wines from native varieties such as Malvasia delle Lipari and Carricante, known for their vibrant acidity, floral notes, and mineral undertones.
